I've been thinking for a long time that I wanted to share my
conception of God. The Bible says "God is Spirit." Isn't that interesting. You can't see a spirit can you? You can sense or feel the Spirit stirring within you. You know precisely the way you need to respond, but you cannot explain it to another person, try as you may. Why is this? The urge to respond to the leading is so strong inside you that you simply are unable to get it out of your mind and heart!
Along side of this concept of God as Spirit is my being aware that I strongly believe that I am a spirit. Others may think they know me, but they only see the physical house where my spirit resides. No one can see my spirit. It's hidden deep within my body somewhere. Of that I am positive.
God's Spirit is like the wind. No one can see the wind. You can see it's power in a Hurricane or Tornado, but it is imposs- ible to see the wind. Likewise it is not possible to see God's Spirit or my spirit. Did you ever think of that?
The persistence of the Spirit is mysterious. Try as you will it is almost impossible to get away from its promptings. Why would you want to? If you really desire a close relationship with God the thing to do is to respond to those gentle urges of the Spirit.
So it is Holy Spirit and human spirit communing wih each other. That is a solemn thought when you really take the time to consider it. But it is truly worth every minute you spend contemplating on it!
May the Lord bless you, one and all.
Peace,
Earl
